Right now I have many fabulous, original paintings available. Perhaps now that you're here you'd like to have a looksy? Below is the description of just one of my pieces, titled "Simple Charm." Country Life ~ Southwest ~ Mexican Folk Art ~ RoMy ORIGINAL TINY TIN (TM) Title: "Simple Charm" Size: 7" x 5 1/4" (painted on thin tin ~ hole already punched ~ ready to hang!) DESCRIPTION A beautiful piece of collectible folk art ~ "Simple Charm" ~ is a lovely blend of colours in these tiny daisies and violets ~ purple, turquoise, yellow, gold, coral and a touch of blue! These precious little flowers remind me of a quote by Therese of Lisieux: "The splendor of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not rob this little violet of its scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness." This is a fabulous piece of folk art that will add a charming touch to any home! Or office workplace! Hola! Thanks for stopping in! It's a gorgeous afternoon here in the Big Bend Country! What a beautiful spring we have been enjoying! Baby rabbits are being born, roadrunners are partnering up, and the desert is in full bloom! I just love it!! One of my most recent paintings is this "Wash Day" which is painted on a piece of thin tin (such a popular medium used in Old Mexico for painting on) ~ which adds so much to the charm of this folk art painting. I really enjoy painting on tin because even though I use acrylic paints the texture of the tin is so smooth and slick that it makes my acrylic perform like watercolor. It also allows for such fluid movement! This piece also has a gold-tone wire hanger attached with a few "curlies" I added to jazz it up a bit. This would be real sweet in a laundry room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen....and what a great gift idea, too! A collection of these "tiny tins" looks great displayed on a wall ~ but each one alone adds a nice touch to any home's decor! I will be adding two other new paintings this weekend. A Saint Francis (also on tin) and a large canvas painting of a turquoise "calico" kitty cat laying on a Mexican chair with a very detailed floral design. Perhaps you'd like to stop in later and have a looksy? I'd love to see you! Have a great evening and Muchos Gracias for your time! RoMy

Spring is in the air here in the Big Bend Country and everything is in bloom! There is no prettier place to be this time of year when all the ocotillo, yucca, giant dagger, Texas bluebonnets, agave, prickly pear, rainbow cactus, and an abundance of wildflowers paint the desert every colour any artist could ever desire! Not just the wonderful desert is in bloom but so are all my potted plants on my backporch ~ and this painting I presently have at auction is one I painted of my beautiful Crown of Thorns! It is just full of the prettiest, tiniest pink flowers! I couldn't resist painting it! Hope you enjoy viewing it! Muchas Gracias for stopping by and please come back again! RoMy

This is my favourite time of day here in the Big Bend Country! The sun is just rising, the birds are singing, the rabbits are playing! A light cool breeze this morning feels so good after a warm day yesterday of about 95 degrees. As I sit here typing this at my computer, I stop occasionally to look out the window and watch the morning colours "paint" the walls of Santa Elena Canyon gorgeous shades of gold and coral pink. Oh how I Love Big Bend! An extremely isolated area, but then "isolated" is really determined by one's perspective...I find Nature in all its beauty to be simply fabulous company! This morning I wanted to mention my most recent painting - a colourful desert cactus garden! This original painting shows the prickly pear cactus in bloom and the flowers are gorgeous shades of yellow, pink, gold, and a hint of red ~ the background is turquoise green. There is an aura of serenity to this piece! With all the desert cacti just beginning to bloom I naturally had to paint a few of them myself! I hope you enjoyed seeing it & please stop in again sometime! Muchos Gracias! RoMy
